Limited Mode

The Limited Mode is a setting that can be applied to DMIx items or collections to prevent downloads. It is identified by the C icon and is used to protect sensitive data, such as licensed or restricted colors.

C icon not activated (light): Download deactivated, and no spectral color values are displayed.

C icon activated (dark): Download possible, and spectral color values are displayed.

What a user can do with Limited Mode enabled:

• View the item or collection if they have Read access.
• Use the item as a reference in workflows, such as within MatchBox for lab dip evaluation.

What a user cannot do with Limited Mode enabled:

• Download the item or collection, even if they have Read access.
• Download spectral colors when Limited Mode is active.
• Export or access Lab values, which remain hidden for limited colors.
• Vendors cannot download reference colors used in MatchBox, ensuring that licensed colors are not shared with third parties.
