The Read & Share permission in DMIx allows users to view objects and share them with others, but does not grant the ability to modify, or further manage permissions.
How the Share Permission Works:
- A user with Read & Share permission can pass on Read access to another user by sharing the object.
- The newly added user will receive Read access only and cannot further share the object with others.
- This ensures that sharing remains controlled and traceable, preventing unrestricted distribution of data.
What a user with Read & Share permission can do:
- Access and view objects in folders or collections where they have permission.
- See metadata and details of the object.
- Share the object with other users, passing on Read access but without granting further sharing rights.
What a user with Read & Share permission cannot do:
- Edit or rename objects.
- Move or reassign objects to different folders or collections.
- Modify permissions beyond sharing (e.g., granting edit rights).
- Re-share an object if they received it through a share permission from another user.
