Masterdata Filter (PaX)

The Masterdata (PaX) Filter is a powerful tool that allows users to search for specific articles based on structured masterdata attributes. To ensure an accurate and efficient search, users must first select the appropriate schema type, such as:

• Accessories

• Fabrics

• Lace

• Zippers

• Customized schemas (if applicable)

Each schema type has its own set of searchable attributes that define how the data is structured and what information can be filtered.

How to Use the Masterdata (PaX) Filter

1. Selecting the Schema Type

Before searching, the user must choose which category of articles they want to search within (e.g., fabrics, accessories, zippers). The searchable attributes are determined by the schema type, meaning that different schemas provide different filtering options.

2. Choosing Favorite Filter Criteria

Users can personalize their filtering experience by marking frequently used filter criteria as favorites:

• Hover over an attribute and click the star icon to mark it as a favorite.
• Favorited filters will always appear at the top of the page for quick access.

3. Accessing All Available Filters

• If the needed attribute is not in the favorites list, users can click on the "More PaX Filters" button.

• This will display every searchable attribute for the selected schema, ensuring that all possible filtering options are available.

4. Entering Search Criteria & Applying Filters

• Users can enter one or multiple search fields to define their criteria.
• After entering the relevant values, they must click "Apply" at the bottom of the section to initiate the filter.
• The result list will only display articles that match ALL entered search criteria.

 

Important Notes on Search Behavior

1. Only Maintained Attributes Will Appear in the Results

• If an article does not have data maintained for a specific masterdata attribute, it will not show up in the search results when that attribute is used as a filter.
• Ensuring that masterdata is properly maintained is crucial for accurate search results.

2. The Impact of Multiple Search Criteria

• Adding more search criteria will refine the search but also reduce the number of results.

• A highly specific search may narrow the results too much, so users should balance filtering precision with the need for a broader result set.

Best Practice for Effective Searching

1. Select the correct schema type first.

2. Use favorite attributes for quick filtering or click "More PaX Filters" for additional options.

3. Enter the desired search criteria and click "Apply" to filter the results.

4. If no results appear, consider adjusting the filters or ensuring that the attributes are properly maintained in the masterdata.
