Using the Search Bar in Advanced Search
The Advanced Search feature allows users to efficiently locate specific data across the platform. The search bar is designed to offer two types of search methods: Narrow Search (Exact Match) and Fuzzy Search (Broad Match), ensuring both precision and flexibility when retrieving information.
Search Methods in Advanced Search
1. Narrow Search (Exact Keyword Match)
If you need precise results, use Narrow Search to locate entries that match your keyword exactly.
How to Perform a Narrow Search:
- Place quotation marks (" ") around your search term.
- Example: Searching for
"Blue Shirt"will return only results containing the exact phrase "Blue Shirt", without variations.
2. Fuzzy Search (Broad Match)
Fuzzy Search allows for broader results by including similar or related terms, even if the exact phrase isn’t used.
How Fuzzy Search Works:
- Simply enter a keyword without quotation marks.
- Example: Searching for Blue Shirt (without quotes) may return results like:
- "Dark Blue Shirt"
"Shirt in Light Blue"
"Blue Cotton Top" - Ideal for: Exploring a range of results related to your keyword, even if the exact wording differs.
Additional Search Features
- Combine Keywords: Use multiple words to refine your results.
Example: "Cotton" "Jacket" (with quotes) will show results that include both words together.
Example: Cotton Jacket (without quotes) will show results where either word appears.
With these search techniques, you can quickly find the information you need in Advanced Search, whether you require an exact match or a broader set of results.
