After selecting one or more colors, you can perform various actions to manage, compare, and export your color data.
Add to DMIx
Select colors and add them to an existing collection or create a new collection directly from the MeaSure tool.
Colors will be saved in your DMIx collection as spectral reflectance data.
Delta E Comparison
Use the Delta E function to compare colors with visual and graphical insights.
Adjust settings such as Delta E formula, observer angle, and illuminant for a more accurate comparison.
View different Delta E values to optimize color matching.
Export Colors
Export your selected colors as QTX or CXF files.
Note: Copyrighted colors cannot be exported.
Delete Colors
Remove colors from your MeaSure tool overview when they are no longer needed.
Combine Colors
Merge two or more selected colors to create a new custom color.
Search for Matching Colors
Under Actions click the magnifying glass icon to search for similar colors in DMIx.
This will open the search tool automatically.
Send to Showcase Tool
Under Actions click the paper plane icon to send colors to the Showcase Tool.
If a 3D composition is uploaded in the Showcase Tool, you can apply the colors directly to simulate recoloring.
These features make it easy to manage and compare colors efficiently within the MeaSure tool.
In the MeaSure Tool, the Observer and Light settings play a crucial role in how color measurements are interpreted and compared.
Observer
The Observer angle represents how human vision perceives color under different viewing conditions.
2° Observer: Simulates human vision for small samples or a narrow viewing angle.
10° Observer: Simulates human vision for larger areas or a wider viewing angle.
The selected observer affects the Lab, LCh, and XYZ color values, influencing color matching and comparison.
Light Source (D65 in the image)
The Light setting defines the illuminant used to calculate color values.
Different light sources can change how a color appears (colors looking different under different lights).
Common Light Sources (Illuminants):
D65 – Standard daylight (6500K), often used for general color evaluation.
D50 – Printing industry standard daylight (5000K).
TL84 (F11) – Fluorescent store lighting.
A – Incandescent light, simulating warm indoor lighting.
If you change the Observer or Light, the numerical color values (Lab, LCh, XYZ) will update based on the selected viewing condition.
This helps users simulate real-world lighting conditions to ensure accurate color consistency in different environments.
