View Only User

View Only User:

The View-Only User is not included in the standard DMIx user set or the default cloud setup. It is a separate, add-on user role designed specifically for viewing-only purposes. This role must be explicitly booked through ColorDigital and is available as a purchasable feature outside the core DMIx module.

The View-Only user role is a secure access type within DMIx, created to support showroom-style presentations and controlled data visibility. It is ideal for external users such as customers, suppliers, or partners who need to see digital content—but not interact with it.

This role provides a read-only experience without risk: View-Only users can browse assigned content but cannot download, export, annotate, or trigger actions.

• View Access Only

  Users can open and view objects including MoodBoards and PaX elements—if their company has those modules enabled.

• No Interaction or Export

  View-Only users cannot download objects, create or upload content, or trigger any platform actions.

• Non-Editable Role

  The permissions for View-Only users are predefined and locked. They cannot be customized or extended.

• Intended for External Use

This role is tailored for safe collaboration with third parties where full user access is not appropriate.

Important Notes

• When switching a user to View-Only, all previously assigned permissions are removed.
• View-Only users cannot see external companies
• If a user owns any content (e.g., collections), ownership must be reassigned before switching to View-Only.
• View-Only users can still be grouped and are visible in user exports (.csv).
