Every collection owner, company admin or users with collection editing rights can delete collections.
Open editing dialogue window
- Open the respective collection
- Hover over the area to the right of the collection name
- Click on the pencil icon
- Click on 'Delete Collection
- Click on ‘Cancel’ or ‘OK’
When you delete a collection from the DMIx Cloud, only the collection itself is removed as a container.
Note: The content (files and objects) within the deleted collection is not deleted from your DMIx Cloud. The files will remain in your Cloud unless you choose to actively delete them.
If any objects in the deleted collection are also part of other collections, they will remain available in those collections for users with the appropriate permissions.
For objects that are not contained in any other collection, they will remain in your DMIx Cloud as unassigned objects. These unassigned objects will not be visible in any collection but can still be accessed.
To locate unassigned objects, use the Advanced Search feature and filter for ‘Homeless’ objects. This will display a list of all items in your DMIx Cloud that are not assigned to any collection. If needed, you can easily reassign these objects to any collection of your choice.
This ensures that no content is lost, and you can reorganize unassigned objects as required.
