Providing Permissions
Permissions in DMIx define who can access, view, edit, or share content within the platform. They ensure structured data management and security, allowing controlled collaboration across teams and companies. Only Company Admins and users with the CREATE_USER function can grant permissions. Access can be assigned at different levels, including folders, collections, and individual objects, with options to inherit permissions downstream for consistency. Permissions can be granted at the individual user level or to user groups. We strongly recommend assigning permissions at the user group level, as this simplifies management and improves efficiency. Adjusting a user’s access by adding or removing them from a group is faster and more effective than modifying permissions for each individual instance. Understanding permissions is essential for managing user roles, protecting sensitive data, and ensuring smooth workflows within the DMIx ecosystem.
