The DMIx Showcase is a powerful Tool for presenting digital materials in an interactive, photorealistic 3D environment. Designed for efficient collaboration and material evaluation, the Showcase helps teams and partners explore textures, structures, and color applications in a true-to-life digital setting.
This guide explains how to get started, what access is required, and how to upload and present materials using the tool.
Access Requirements
Before you begin, ensure that your user account has been granted the necessary permissions:
3D View: Allows you to view materials in the interactive 3D Showcase.
3D Upload: Enables you to upload and assign materials to a 3D object for presentation.
SHOWCASE: Allows access to the Showcase Tool
These permissions are managed by your organization's DMIx admin. If you're unable to upload or interact with 3D views, reach out to your internal admin to request access.
How It Works
You can either:
1. Use a Default 3D Object
Your company may have a pre-configured 3D object (like a garment, shoe, furniture piece, or swatch board) available. This object serves as the canvas for applying and viewing materials in context.
2. Drag & Drop a Composition
You can also drag and drop your own composition (a predefined combination of material + colorway + metadata) directly from your DMIx collections into the Showcase Tool. This is useful when building presentations on the fly or tailoring them to a specific client or purpose.
