Company Attributes are custom attributes that can be linked to any object uploaded into a Collection. They are useful to provide additional searchable information or grouping objects. Only the Company Admin of a DMIx Company Account can create these attributes, which is done in the Company Settings. Company Attributes can be useful for providing additional searchable information or for grouping objects individually.
When creating a Company Attribute, the Company Admin must configure several settings:
- Attribute Name
- Attribute Technical Name
- Attribute Valid For: Specifies the object type(s) where the attribute should be visible.
- Attribute Visibility: Determines whether the attribute is visible only to internal users or also to external DMIx Company Accounts.
- Attribute Mandatory: Indicates whether assigning this attribute is required when uploading an object.
- Attribute Type: Defines the data type (String, Integer, Float, Enumeration, or Enumeration_Multichoice).
Once created, regular DMIx users can assign these attributes to any objects they upload into their collections. This can be done in the ‘Edit Object’ mode of the object.
Once an object is associated with a Company Attribute, users can search for the respective attributes using the Advanced Search feature.
